MY GLASS DUCHESS
~ ~ ~ 1998 NDGA Convention Displays ~ ~ ~
The 1998 National Depression Glass Association convention in San Antonio featured more than 25 displays of glassware from private collections across the country. Here are more Fostoria and Tiffin patterns, plus glass produced by Heisey, Paden City and Imperial, and an assortment of sugars and creamers.

Oklahoma Prairie
Several amber Fostoria Coin lamps, a pedestal cake stand and assorted covered urns, comports and bowls are among the impressive pieces in the display created by J. R. Johnston, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Texas Gold
Massed upon a golden cloth, Imperial's crystal Candlewick draws plenty of attention...but the piece de resistance definitely is THE gold punch bowl set photographed for the cover of "Candlewick: The Jewel of Imperial, Book 2." Adding color to the display by Elizabeth Kielpyka, San Antonio, Texas, are perfume atomizers, several ruby pieces, and a caramel slag bowl.

Tea Time
A certain collectible kitty guards one corner of a lighted multi-tiered array of sugars and creamers, mostly the individual variety, from the collection of Fred Eldridge, Forrest City, Arkansas.

Color Spectrum Spectacular
From the warmth of Mandarin to the cool tones of Royal Blue and Twilight, Tiffin's colors and shapes offer choices for any taste in this display by Kelly O'Kane, St. Paul, Minnesota.

Corpus Christi's Golden Sand
Dramatic black table linens give Heisey's gleaming sahara Empress a sophisticated look. The display is by Terri & Michael Burke, Corpus Christi, Texas.

Fuchsia
Tiffin's Fuchsia pattern as far as the eye could see...three 8-foot tables could barely contain even part of the extensive collection amassed by Dale Mitchell, San Jose, California.

San Francisco Elegance
Colorful chocolate fish add a whimsical touch to green Fostoria Versailles, whose elegance is complemented by sterling flatware and accessories. Kenneth Gardner brought his collection from San Francisco, California.
Florida's Crimson Bird
Golden flatware and American Beauty roses emphasize the rich crimson of Crow's Foot (Line 890) by Paden City, from the collection of Joyce and Jack Nichols, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Notable pieces include large bowls on square Line 412, tumblers and tall candlesticks, an etched crystal cake plate and a green 2-handled plate.
